Fertility Enhancement Acupuncture

How Does Acupuncture Enhance Fertility?

Nowadays, acupuncture is often recommended by medical doctors as it is proven to be beneficial in preparation of the body for conception as a standalone therapy or as an adjunct therapy to prescribed pharmaceutical treatments, IUI and IVF.

How does acupuncture prepare the body for conception and enhance fertility?
First of all, acupuncture encourages better circulation in the abdomen, womb, ovaries and fallopian tubes as well as regulates hormones and the menstrual cycle. Second of all, it relaxes the body and mind. All of these factors, once regulated, provide the grounds for the formation and growth of healthy ovarian follicles,  adequate thickness of the uterine lining and successful implantation of the embryo. By promoting circulation, acupuncture helps to reduce the side effects of hormonal medications, the symptoms of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome and discomfort in the uterus (post embryo transfer). Acupuncture also improves the vitality of the body and, therefore, helps to maintain a healthy pregnancy.

Acupuncture can also improve sperm quality, quantity, morphology and motility by increasing the man’s vitality and reducing stress.

The body is riddled with a number of specific points, which help to restore the body to balance, improve organ functions, help to reduce discomfort and pain through increasing and freeing circulation in affected areas. When needled in the appropriate points, a cascade of internal chemical reactions occurs that alters the current body’s state, which allows it to settle in better alignment and internal equilibrium.

Whether you are trying to conceive naturally or with medical assistance, it is important to start having your treatments earlier rather than later because it takes at least 3 months to regulate the menstrual cycle and boost your fertility. If you have a gynaecological condition it may take longer. However, it all depends on the individual situation. Some women get pregnant quickly despite their medical diagnoses.

In some cases it is also important to take a daily Chinese Herbal Medicine treatment.
