Personal development

To be able to perform with clarity, speed and effectiveness, your practitioner has to be fully present with you. That is why it is important for your therapist to practice a physical discipline that allows them to see, hear and feel in the present moment. They may be practicing Tai Chi, Qi Gong or other movement disciplines. My approach is through frequent active meditations. I often go on meditation retreats with experienced teachers and also read a lot of self-exploratory books. This helps me not only to be fully present with you during our session but also guide and support you through challenging and stressful times.

Acupuncture Journey

I was treated with acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in my twenties hoping to heal duodenal erosions. It took 9 months of regular treatments to fully recover. I was impressed with the results as my conventional treatment was only masking the symptoms. This experience peaked my interest in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which later developed into a career. I completed my TCM Acupuncture undergraduate degree and Chinese Herbal Medicine postgraduate degree at the University of Westminster. It was a very challenging and exciting experience.

After graduating, I decided to further develop my skills in TCM by exploring different practical study opportunities. I shadowed experienced TCM doctors in the Tai Zhong hospital in Taiwan and also had extensive Yin Style Ba Gua training with Andrew Nugent-Head, who is distinguished in China, Europe and America. I also trained with Phillip Weeks in Master Tung’s system and with Dr. Richard Tan in his Balancing method. I was especially impressed by Kiiko Matsumoto’s Japanese acupuncture approach to treatment which I found to be both painless and profoundly effective.

I later developed an interest in treating fertility patients and felt inspired and honored to assist them on their journey. I completed fertility, pregnancy and women’s health courses with a number of teachers in London. All these extensive studies and clinical practices provided a solid foundation for my ability to deliver fertility acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine treatments with a high success rate.

Massage Journey

When I was considering a change in career, I initially immersed myself into the world of massage, which led to me discovering Transformational Touch Therapy also known as No Hands Massage. Rather than using pressure, this therapy involves transferring the practitioner’s body weight through the soft parts of the forearms to the patients body. For this style to be successful, meditation and active listening to the body from the therapist is required. Once the body receives this quality of touch, care and attention it starts unwinding the nervous system, realigning physically and healing itself. This is not just a massage, it is a very enjoyable adventure and meaningful experience.

While training with Andrew Nugent-Head I learned Deep Qi Bodywork which I often implement into my acupuncture sessions. This Deep Qi approach allows me to affect the speed and depth of blood circulation. Depending on the diagnosis and treatment principle I can either guide Qi to your upper or lower body, gather it in specific areas or spread it across your body. This approach is similar to the Transformational Touch techniques, but more subtle.
